DeVries Professional Immersion Grant

The DeVries Professional Immersion Grant enables students in the Frostic School of Art to participate in a variety of activities beyond the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍøÖ±²¥ campus. The eligible activities include internships with art museums, institutions, and studios, apprenticeships with area artists, or attendance at selected lectures, exhibitions, art collections, libraries, artist residencies, workshops, or conferences. Funds will be disbursed by the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍøÖ±²¥ Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Office directly to student accounts. Frostic School of Art Students enrolled full-time (defined as 12 credits) with a first major in any of the degree granting programs in the Frostic School of Art are eligible to apply. 

Expenditures supported by these grants include:
 
• Tuition, fees, and supplies for workshops, conferences, and artist residencies outside of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍøÖ±²¥. 
• Travel expenses related to selected lectures, exhibitions, art collections, libraries, artist residencies, workshops, or conferences
• Assistance with an internship that may not provide for travel, rent, gas, or parking.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Art majors with Art as their first major
  • Full time status
  • The proposed activity must be completed before students graduate
  • No outstanding final reports for Frostic School of Art Grants and Scholarships

APPLICATION PROCESS

Funding is awarded on the basis of brief proposals submitted by eligible students. Proposals should describe a project and/or activity that advances the applicant’s research or creative work.

Applications must include:

  • Five studio images or a writing sample for Art History Majors
  • Statement of the nature of your project 
  • Learning Outcomes
  • Project Timeline
  • Project Budget
  • Artist Statement
  • Resume
