Western launched its 2024 United Way campaign on Tuesday, Sept. 17, supporting the United Way of South Central Michigan. This initiative funds vital programs that impact the Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Jackson and Lansing areas. This year's campaign theme is "We show up." Faculty and staff are encouraged to donate through the convenient online portal or by requesting a form via email from Courtney Arnold or calling her at (269) 387-2072. Donations are due by Thursday, Oct. 31. Your participation helps ensure children are fed, families are housed and individuals have what they need to thrive. Let鈥檚 make a difference and show up together and make this our best鈥

Human Resources is conducting a series of in-person training sessions designed to meet the needs of staff and faculty. The training series will kick off on September 24, with a session on the performance management system. For additional information including registration information and training descriptions, visit the Human Resources website: wmich.edu/hr/training.  The trainings are geared toward employees, managers and supervisors. Information at these training sessions focuses on providing important University information about University functions. Early registration is strongly encouraged due to limited seating. Registration is through the eLearning system.

The 澳门六合彩官网直播x Office of Faculty Development is pleased to announce applications are open for 2024-25 Instructional Development Grants. These grants support the efforts of board-appointed bargaining unit faculty to improve student learning through instructional and curricular development projects, as well as provide travel opportunities that will spark classroom innovation. Grants are available to full-time and part-time (PIO) bargaining unit faculty.

The deadlines for all Instructional Development Grants have changed to align with the fiscal year. Applications will be reviewed on November 1 and February 1, and all projects and travel must be completed and submitted for reimbursement in the fiscal year and no later than June 15, 2025.

From September 13 to 28, we鈥檒l proudly showcase the creations of 澳门六合彩官网直播鈥檚 faculty artists and fine arts students in the AMP Lab, including five 鈥渘ew media鈥 entries made by our Kinetic Imaging students as well as a live, one-time collaborative performance piece on Saturday, September 14, featuring 澳门六合彩官网直播 College of Fine Arts instructors Kevin Abbott, Jacklyn Brickman, and Kelsey Paschich. We hope to see you at 200 Ionia Ave SW in Grand Rapids during Art Prize as we celebrate the creativity of our fellow Broncos!

AppsAnywhere provides on-demand access to engineering, mathematics, statistics, and many other curriculum-specific software programs typically available only in campus computer labs. The app store-like experience provides a single place to access, and launch provided software.

Please note: AppsAnywhere is currently unavailable on macOS (Apple devices). Support for macOS is still in development. The software that you use for course instruction in campus computer labs is still available.

Don't forget to remind your students that Civic Engagement Week is happening at the Student Center from September 16th through the 20th! Join us for National Voter Registration Day on September 17th from 12 PM to 2 PM, where students can register to vote and learn more about early voting dates.

Additionally, the Michigan Department of State will have a mobile office on campus on Thursday, September 19th, from 11 AM to 3 PM, located in front of the Student Center entrance.

Throughout the week, we'll also be hosting a food drive, with all donations going to the Food Pantry in Faunce Student Services to support our student body.
