MLK Day Annual Teach-in

Annual campus teach-in event focuses on the theme "MLK's Blueprint for Justice." Sponsored by the Lewis Walker Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnic Relations, the event will explore how Martin Luther King Jr.'s "Life Blueprint" speech can inspire individuals to critically address injustice and foster solidarity to protect civil and social liberties.
Sessions include:
- 12:35-1:25 p.m.鈥擨nterview with an Activist: Panelists will share personal experiences and practices, both big and small, of incorporating activism and social justice into their daily lives.
- 1:30-2:25 p.m.鈥擬usic with a message: Exploring the songs of the Civil Rights Movement (1958-1963) as powerful sources of resilience for Black communities, examining how the music reflected the times and served as a tool for healing.
- 2:30-3:20 p.m.鈥擲tudent demands for 2025: What are we asking for now? This session will examine the 1968 demands of 澳门六合彩官网直播's Black Action Movement, which drove transformative change, and explore contemporary demands from young people for inclusion, respect and equity in institutions.
