Bio:
Dr. Virginia David received her B.A. degree in English language and literature from Universidade Federal do Espirito Santo, in Vitoria, Brazil. In 2011, she received her M.A. degree in teaching English as a second language from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She received her doctorate degree in second language studies from Michigan State University in 2015. Dr. David has taught English as a foreign and second language for over 14 years. More recently, she began volunteering at a local ESL program teaching English to immigrants. In addition, she has been training ESL teachers since 2012. Since 2015, Dr. David has been teaching SLA, teaching methods, assessment, and research methods courses in the ESL graduate certificate and M.A. in TESOL programs at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍøÖ±²¥. She has also worked with faculty from the University of Duhok, in Iraq, to help them to design the curriculum for their English program. Her research interests include L2 interaction, L2 writing, and assessment, among others.
