External support for °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍøÖ±²¥ student researchers is available from a number of agencies providing grants. Below is a sampling of those and other external funding resources. Once a funding source has been identified, the Office of Research and Innovation can help with proposal development. Contact a research program officer for assistance.

—National Science Foundation. Deadline: second Wednesday of Sept. annually.  

—National Institute of Health Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Rolling application dates of April 8, Aug. 8, Dec. 8 annually.

- Conduct independent research, study, or teach English abroad. Campus deadline 2nd Monday of September. Contact the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍøÖ±²¥ Fulbright Program Advisor, Michelle Metro-Roland.

-for intensive language study or research abroad funded by the Defense Language & National Security Education Office. Early American Studies:  

—Early American Industries Association. Supports graduate student projects relating to the preservation and presentation of early-American historic trades. Application deadline:  March 15 annually.

—The Library Company of Philadelphia. Application deadline:  March 1 annually.  

—Wenner-Gren Foundation. Application deadline:  May 1 and Nov. 1 annually.

—AAUW-The American Association of University Women. Various rolling deadlines for multiple programs.

—Venturewell. Rolling deadlines in May, Feb., Oct. annually.

—Administration for Children and Families. Support dissertation research on healthy marriage/responsible fatherhood policy issues. Anticipated funding estimated deadline: Sept. 30, 2020.  

—John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. To support use of library archival materials. Application deadline: most due Aug. 15 annually. Some variances for individual grants. 

—American Psychological Foundation. Search for student and graduate opportunities. Various application deadlines.

—for dissertation research. Application deadline March 31 annually. Also research travel grants application deadline March 15 and Sept. 15 annually.

—National Science Foundation. Various October deadlines depending on program of study.

—awarded to doctoral psychology students to support feminist research. Deadlines March 15,  Sept. 15 annually. 

—Assoc. of Accountants and Financial Professionals. Various doctoral student grants with various deadlines. 

—National Science Foundation 18-505.  Supports international research and research-related activities for U.S. science and engineering students. Application deadlines: Track I second Tuesday in Sept. annually; Track II third Tuesday in Sept. annually; Track III fourth Tuesday in Sept. annually.  

—Offers research and public service fellowships to graduate and undergraduate students at affiliate institutions in aerospace, space science, mathematics, and other science- or engineering-related fields as well as to students working on educational research topics in mathematics, science or technology.

—Multiple specific graduate student opportunities.

—The Research Experiences for Undergraduates program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation.

—The academies offer several fellowships in science, engineering and medicine.

—The Leakey Foundation. Exclusively funds research related specifically to human origins. Rolling deadlines of July 15 or Jan. 10 annually.

—Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy.  

—NSF 19-611. Rolling deadlines of Sept. 9 and Feb. 20 annually.

—A gateway to government science information provided by U.S. Government science agencies, including research and development results. 

—NASA seeks to challenge students to propose new aeronautics ideas/concepts that are relevant to NASA Aeronautics. Deadlines:  June 24, 2020.  

—Graduate Student Research Program offered by the Department of Energy’s Office of Science.
