Conflict Management
Overview
The overarching goal of this course is to learn what differentiates constructive conflict from dysfunctional conflict to better enact effective resolution-seeking strategies in a variety of situations. We will begin by exploring our attitudes toward conflict and the ways they affect how we approach conflicts. We will then examine five different styles of managing conflict as well as the contextual elements that need to be taken into consideration to determine which conflict style will be most effective in any given situation. You will become more aware of your own style towards addressing conflict, as well as learn different approaches to better manage conflicts by utilizing techniques that focus on reaching resolution and determining the next steps moving forward.
