°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍøÖ±²¥'s Fall Convocation celebrates achievement, State of University
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍøÖ±²¥ President Edward Montgomery will deliver his State of the University address during the University's Fall Convocation Friday, Sept. 14, in the Bernhard Center. Fall Convocation is a recognition of faculty and staff achievement for excellence in teaching, research and service.
The campuswide celebration at the Bernhard Center will include:
- A Teaching and Learning Bash from 9 to 10:45 a.m. in Room 209-210
- An 11 a.m. campuswide award ceremony in the North Ballroom recognizing achievement, as five sets of Universitywide honors are presented--the Distinguished Service, Distinguished Teaching, Distinguished Faculty Scholar and Emerging Scholar awards and the Make a Difference Awards.
- President Edward Montgomery's State of the University address at 11:45 a.m., also in the North Ballroom.
- The awards ceremony and address will be followed by a luncheon in the South Ballroom of the Bernhard Center for all attending Fall Convocation.
Fall Convocation is the product of a collaboration involving the Office of the President, Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Office of Faculty Development, Extended University Programs, and Assessment and Undergraduate Studies.
The annual Spring Convocation is set for Friday, Feb. 22, in the Fetzer Center to honor achievements in such areas as innovative teaching, diversity, discovery and global engagement.
