General summary
Responsible for operational management of University essential studies program, curriculum change process and workflow. Works with faculty, other stake holders and academic partners on strategies, communications, assessments, and collaborations related to articulation agreements, essential studies, and related curriculum matters.
Major duties
- Works with essential studies faculty lead and relevant committees to coordinate execution of multiple tasks related to assessment, marketing and communication, and electronic workflow.
- Responsible for managing the programmatic, operational tasks of the Universities curriculum change workflow and process.
- Represents the University in coordination of critical campus and external stakeholders to create and maintain community college articulation agreements and relevant dual enrollment and early college offerings.
- Advocates for flexible, transfer-friendly programs and for alignment with, and expansion of, Michigan Transfer Agreement.
- Develops and implements programming to educate and inform faculty, staff, current and prospective students, and external partners about essential studies.
- Makes recommendations and provides strategic leadership to advance major initiatives to college leadership, essential studies faculty lead, and relevant essential studies committees regarding policy, goals, and assessments.
- Serves on faculty senate councils, committees, and other university wide committees as requested.
Minimum qualifications

Required education
- Doctoral degree in related field from an accredited institution
Required experience
- Eight years' relevant experience
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Experience with academic advising, classroom teaching, assessment, student success, and high-level initiatives with wide impact.
- Proven success directing communication strategies and partnering with external stakeholders.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
