General summary
Manages residential locations for the Center for Disability Services.
Major duties
- Manages residential locations, including training, monitoring and evaluating employee performance. Ensures residents’ needs are met in compliance with standards of relevant state and community agencies and applicable University policies.
- Ensures staff is trained to meet insurance standards with mental health contracts and best practices in the field.
- Develops a resident service plan. Ensures recommendations of medical professionals, social workers and psychologists are implemented.
- Provides direct care and behavior management to residents in emergency situations and to instruct employees on plans of service for residents.
- Manages electronic medical records to ensure that resident information is properly documented to meet insurance billing standards.
- Establishes and maintains professional relationships with funding bodies, families, medical professionals and community members to ensure coordination of care for residents.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Two years’ relevant experience.
- Experience with or an understanding of persons with developmental disabilities.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
