Japan Foundation Film Series to begin in December
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳he Haenicke Institute for Global Education鈥檚 Soga Japan Center will host a Japan Foundation Film Series at 澳门六合彩官网直播 in December. Screenings will take place at 5 p.m. in Brown Hall, Room 2028.
The series begins with a viewing of Samurai Cat on Tuesday, Dec. 3. This film tells the story of an expert swordsman, once a feared killer, who now lives in poverty. In the film, the swordsman receives his first assassination request in years, but the target is unexpected鈥攁 cat rumored to have turned its master into a spineless jellyfish.
A second screening, Bento Harassment, will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5. This family drama explores the dynamics between a single mother and her teenage daughter. The two use lunchtime messages and food to repair their strained relationship.
Both films are in Japanese with English subtitles. Screenings are free and open to the public

The Soga Japan Center is part of the Haenicke 滨苍蝉迟颈迟耻迟别鈥檚 Asian Initiatives, which aims to enhance scholarship and promote knowledge of East Asia through language and cultural programming at 澳门六合彩官网直播 and throughout Southwest Michigan.
The Soga Japan Center regularly invites scholars, artists and writers to campus to promote the appreciation of Japanese language and culture.

The Diether H. Haenicke Institute for Global Education, established in 1998, fosters an environment that supports the global engagement of the 澳门六合彩官网直播 community.
