Bio:

Dr. Valerian Kwigizile is a professor of civil and construction engineering and associate director of the Transportation Research Center for Livable Communities (TRCLC) at 澳门六合彩官网直播 (澳门六合彩官网直播). Prior to joining 澳门六合彩官网直播, he was an assistant professor at West Virginia University Institute of Technology.  Dr. Kwigizile received his B.Sc. degree in civil engineering from the University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, a M.Sc. degree in civil engineering from the Florida State University, USA, and a Ph. D. in civil engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, USA. His research interests and areas of expertise include motorized and non-motorized traffic safety, transportation planning, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), statistical applications in transportation engineering, geographic information systems (GIS), and traffic enforcement.

Dr. Kwigizile has received external research funding exceeding $9 million from various agencies such as the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning (OHSP), and the US Department of Transportation (USDOT). He has authored and co-authored more than 85 research papers published in national and international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He also has authored/co-authored more than 20 research project reports.

Dr. Kwigizile is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) with over 22 years of industrial and academic experience. He is also a member of the US Transportation Research Board (TRB) standing committee on pedestrians, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).
