Michael Williams is the founder and president of Kalamazoo’s SignArt, Inc., a nationally ranked company that designs, manufactures and installs business and institutional signs throughout the country. Under Williams’ leadership, the company has been a pioneer in developing a culture of corporate social responsibility and is an early innovator of low energy alternative light sources for retrofits and other products, creating a more sustainable process.
As a member of the International Sign Association Education Committee, Williams has contributed to the development of many industry-specific training tools. Additionally, he has traveled to nearly 100 countries and has helped organize, raise funds and implement World Community Service projects relating to food, water, sustainability, medical needs, disaster relief, schools and orphanages around the world.
Williams graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing from °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍøÖ±²¥, where he was a recipient of the Waldo-Sangren Scholar Award. He has completed the Harvard Business School executive education program in business and economics, as well as international executive educational forums in France, Mexico, Turkey and Germany.
Williams is an ardent supporter of the Kalamazoo community and serves on the board of the Michigan Sacred Music Festival. Williams is also a longtime, active Rotarian and is committed to solving the opiod crisis in southwest Michigan. Williams has two daughters and a stepson and resides in Kalamazoo with his wife Sue, his partner in community advocacy.
