Since 2017, Patricia Daugherty has served as a professor of supply chain management and the Ivy chair in business at Iowa State University. Prior to her current position, she held the Bowersox-Thull chair in logistics and supply chain management at Michigan State University and served as a division director and Siegfried chair in marketing and supply chain management at the University of Oklahoma. She has also been a faculty member at the University of Georgia and was an instructor of marketing at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍøÖ±²¥.
 
Daugherty is a past editor of the Journal of Business Logistics, which is widely considered the top logistics academic journal. She has also served as associate editor for the Logistics and Transportation Review and the Journal of Supply Chain Management. She remains a member of multiple editorial boards and has been extensively published in logistics and supply chain journals, as well as being the co-author of two books.
 
Prior to her career in academia, she was a buyer with a national retail grocery chain and carried that experience into her primary research interests, which include buyer-seller relationships, collaboration, and reverse logistics and return management. Due to her specialization, she has consulted with a number of firms including Gillette, Nabisco, Owens-Corning Fiberglass, Union Pacific and others.
