Students in this course spend approximately five days at Asylum Lake Preserve studying the effects of garlic mustard on plant and arthropod community composition.

Students will compare the species composition of mature trees in the forest canopy at Asylum Lake Preserve with that of the understory. Students will survey plots within the forest, identify tree species and measure the diameter-at-breast-height for each tree within the plot.
