Ping Liang
Ping has spent over 40 years in American banking, consulting, and investments with international business experience in Asia, Europe, and North America. She was a bank executive with Bank of Boston, Old Kent Financial Corporation, and Fifth Third Bank in Boston, London, various Asian locations, and Michigan. Ping was also Director of Corporate & Financial Services at Burson Marsteller for the Greater China market, helping Chinese state-owned enterprises successfully launch IPOs and international private placements. She served as Representative for Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Port Authority to promote two-way trade and investments between New England and Asia. In addition, Ping was an investment professional with Reams Asset Management Company in the US, with responsibility for investing American pension funds in international equities and fixed income securities.
Ping is the founder and Managing Director of AlphaMax Advisors LLC. AlphaMax is a management consultancy that provides forensic commercial due diligence, strategy, and venture development advice to Western companies to do business successfully with China and helps Chinese companies explore investment opportunities in the U.S. She was recognized as one of the 鈥淭op Women-Owned Businesses in Western Michigan鈥 in 2007 and 2011.
Ping cherishes her involvement in community and non-profit organizations. Ping serves on the boards of Experience Grand Rapids, the World Affairs Council of Western Michigan, and the Yale-China Association where she is the immediate past board chair. She has served as board president of Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, St. Cecilia Music Center, and the World Affairs Council of Western Michigan and as a member of the Huntington Bank Women鈥檚 Advisory Board and the executive committee of the Economic Club of Grand Rapids. Ping is an active Rotarian. She is treasurer of the Yale Club of Western Michigan and is the site coordinator for the Yale Day of Service. She is also a delegate to the Yale Alumni Association Assembly.
Ping earned a master鈥檚 degree in public and private management from the Yale School of Management. Ping and her husband, Tim, reside in Ada, Michigan.
